The three-hour special "Inside the Vietnam War" (8 p.m. EST on National Geographic) certainly isn't the most artful look at our involvement in Vietnam. Its rapid cuts between battle footage and interviews will make you long for the patient, thoughtful storytelling of Ken Burns. Despite these flaws, the battlefield footage is so exhaustive, so vibrant and at times so disturbing that it's hard to believe there were that many cameras so close to the action. Featuring more than 50 first-person interviews with Vietnam vets, "Inside the Vietnam War" offers a thorough retelling of the war's escalation through the voices of those who endured it. Features: An ambush of Suicide Charlie 1/7 Marines, Brief Interview with a Suicide Charley Marine.
